This wig was a bit of fun I did for Haloween 2020, when we were in lockdown and going out for Halloween was out of the question. I asked myself, “What would Marie Antoinnette’s wig look like if she were a vampire?” I started with one of her earlier portraits, in which her hair is done up very tall, then scaled it down a bit. I started with a white synthetic lacefront wig, and built a tall bumpit cage using corset boning and a white fishnet stocking. Many, many bobbypins later, and… VOILÀ!
