I began taking Tribal Fusion style bellydance lessons in 1998 in Chico, California. I loved it and soon began performing in local events mostly, and occasionally would come up to the San Francisco Bay Area to perform at bellydance festivals and gawk at all the amazingly talented dancers, especially Fat Chance Bellydance. In 2003 I moved to the Bay and began taking lessons in FatChanceBellyDance®Style (formerly American Tribal Style® – a modern, group improvisational style of belly dance) with my heroes, creator Carloena Nericcio and the other members of Fat Chance Bellydance. I performed with FCBD’s student troupe Third Tribe (later Nefer Tem) around San Francisco and surrounding cities. My favorite gigs with those lovely ladies were AIDS Walk and the time we danced for Dykes on Bikes for Pride. My last gig was in 2007.
